I live in central PA where we have very hard water. I was living with my father-in-law when he got a new water heater because he wanted more capacity. I don't know how old the old one was, but i do know that after it was replaced, we were replacing coils every 6-8 months. This is on top of a new coffee pot every couple of months. He would just buy a $10-$20 pot because the 'better' ones would die too. After we installed the Eddy Water Descaler a little over two years ago, he hasn't had to replace either of those things. I can't speak to how efficient it is compared to other options, but in the time since installing it, it has certainly made noticeable differences to dish spots, hard water deposits, and life expectancy of appliances. It may seem like mumbo jumbo, but there is absolutely something to them, they do work well. And in retrospect, maybe having had it installed earlier would've saved him from feeling like he needed to replace he water heater because it would've been running more efficiently. https://youtube.com/embed/hokTzqWiBMQ
Not only do plumber apprentices have to complete their training and education to receive their licenses, they also are required to pass a criminal background check and carry liability insurance. Hiring just anybody can make you vulnerable to fraud since unlicensed plumbers might not know what they're doing or could pretend to fix something and end up charging you for the incomplete work.
Found myself in a bind on a Friday morning due to a gas pipe leak from Gas meter. Gas had been shut off by SC Gas Co. I needed a very quick repair. I had to leave town for a wedding that afternoon, very stressful. I couldn't leave my kids with no hot water, stove, heat, ect.. Called A&A spoke to August explained the situation, He was very helpful and professional, came out promptly within 2 hours and resolved the whole problem at a good price. I made my trip on time and enjoyed my weekend with peace of mind, that was (priceless) He also checked and diagnosed a water pressure problem at no cost. I am a Fan and will use A & A In the future.

The straight sections of plumbing systems are called "pipes" or "tubes". A pipe is typically formed via casting or welding, whereas a tube is made through extrusion. Pipe normally has thicker walls and may be threaded or welded, while tubing is thinner-walled and requires special joining techniques such as brazing, compression fitting, crimping, or for plastics, solvent welding. These joining techniques are discussed in more detail in the piping and plumbing fittings article.

PVC/CPVC – rigid plastic pipes similar to PVC drain pipes but with thicker walls to deal with municipal water pressure, introduced around 1970. PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, and it has become a common replacement for metal piping. PVC should be used only for cold water, or for venting. CPVC can be used for hot and cold potable water supply. Connections are made with primers and solvent cements as required by code.
Called for a quote on an issue we had with our septic. I am new to septic systems and definitely not a professional so when I was trying to explain to August what I was trying to get looked at, he practically attacked me saying "so you want to ruin your septic tank?!" Obviously not, I was trying to get help, from what I thought was an industry professional, so that I DIDN'T ruin my system! Even though he talked to me like I was an idiot, I was still considering using his service because of the great reviews, but after finding out that I was spoken to that way by an owner.... not gonna happen!
The word "plumber" dates from the Roman Empire. The Latin for lead is plumbum. Roman roofs used lead in conduits and drain pipes and some were also covered with lead, lead was also used for piping and for making baths. In medieval times anyone who worked with lead was referred to as a plumber as can be seen from an extract of workmen fixing a roof in Westminster Palace and were referred to as plumbers "To Gilbert de Westminster, plumber, working about the roof of the pantry of the little hall, covering it with lead, and about various defects in the roof of the little hall". Thus a person with expertise in working with lead was first known as a Plumbarius which was later shortened to plumber. http://m.www.youtube.com/embed/hokTzqWiBMQ
August came out to inspect 3 septic tanks on a property I had in escrow. He is extremely knowledgeable. As a real estate broker and property manager, I've hired countless plumbing and septic companies over the years. He was on time, professional, got right to work, took his time and did a very thorough inspection. The value he provided was the best investment I made on this deal. Hiring knowledgeable contractors to inspect your properties is your best insurance against loss and he saved me tens of thousands of dollars with the information he provided.
Plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters may use many different materials and construction techniques, depending on the type of project. Residential water systems, for example, use copper, steel, and plastic pipe that one or two plumbers can install. Power plant water systems, by contrast, are made of large steel pipes that usually take a crew of pipefitters to install. Some workers install stainless steel pipes on dairy farms and in factories, mainly to prevent contamination.
Luke and Seng were wonderful. Water not draining is troubling for any homeowner. Both were very professional and comforting as they assessed and worked to correct my problem. I was alarmed when is was not a quick fix but they made the extra effort to correct my problem so no concrete floor is being wrapped up today. Benjamin Franklin plumbing is on at the top of my list. http://youtube.com/e/hokTzqWiBMQ?app=desktop
As a child watching my father repair plumbing and all kinds of other things, I obtained skills to fix just about anything. Mid way through high school I decided I wanted to take over our family business. After graduating I then immediately started collage at Riverside community and at about 20 I began working full time to better the company with the business and marketing skills I acquired at the school. In the next five years with a lot of hard work I went from one van and a pump truck to three vans, two pump trucks and enough cameras and machines to fill them. Ive had anywhere from just myself to having 7 employees working at one time. Through my experience in past 15years of running things Ive found that I want to keep our company small and family orientated. This way I can keep a more personable relationship with our customers and my guys, keeping work standards high with morals and principles.

During a sewer video inspection, the homeowner can watch over the technician's shoulder as the camera snakes its way through your sewer. After the camera finds the obstruction, it is stopped. The video technician then goes outside with a sewer sonde device which locates the video camera underground. This area is marked with spray paint. If the sewer line later needs to be dug up and replaced, workers will know exactly where to dig. Roto-Rooter provides the video to the homeowner, either on DVD format or online.

“Don’t assume that every Mr. Fix-it advertising his services in the local Pennysaver or on Craigslist is a licensed plumber,” says one New York plumber. There is no national standard for issuing licenses. Some plumbers are licensed by the state, others by the counties they work in. Check with your local city hall or chamber of commerce. They should be able to direct you to the appropriate source for a list of licensed plumbers in your area. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hokTzqWiBMQ&app=desktop
With experience and expertise, your local plumbers will be able to inspect your plumbing repairs and fixtures and identify where any problems may have originated. With the right tools on hand, they’ll be able to fix the problem, right there and then. If your water heater has triggered a full-blown flood, they’ll know exactly how and where to shut off the water supply. Should the flood be the result of a burst pipe, they’ll be able to change it before it can do any additional damage. Expert, cheap, and local plumbers know a lot about their craft that we do not, and the Handy platform gives you the opportunity to book them and benefit from their knowledge and ability.
I had a relatively simple repair on the water main next to the water meter. After receiving other quotes which were much more than I expected, I called Scout. They quoted a cost that beat the other quotes and said that if I dug and refilled, it would be almost half. Scout arrived timely and were professional and courteous. I am most pressed. Thanks again!
Home repairs and maintenance shouldn’t get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. Unfortunately, most people don’t think they need plumbing repair services until there’s an emergency. While some plumbing issues may seem minor, they could actually be serious emergencies in the making. Routine repairs from Mr. Rooter® Plumbing are affordable, and they’ll save you from paying for emergency plumbing rescue in the future. https://youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=hokTzqWiBMQ
